Founded in 1945, Cantieri di Pisa is a hallmark of nautical innovation and craftsmanship. Initially focusing on civil and military vessels, our shipyard quickly established itself as a pioneer in yacht design, launching the iconic Akhir series in 1970 in collaboration with renowned naval architect Pierluigi Spadolini.
In 2021, Enrico Gennasio, took ownership of Cantieri di Pisa, marking a new era of innovation for the brand. With CEO Marco Massabò at the helm, we have modernized our facilities and focused on developing highly performing, highly technological, eco-friendly yachts. Our new fleet features the exclusive EHPH (eco-high-power hull) design, combining performance with reduced environmental impact.
With their unique elements, such as the stern radar arch, inclined deckhouses and seamless window designs, Cantieri di Pisa yachts are instantly recognizable.
Our commitment to stylistic evolution and advanced construction techniques ensures that each yacht we produce is both a masterpiece and a testament to our rich heritage.
Our shipyard excels in advanced carbon and fiberglass processing and innovative welding techniques, ensuring top-tier functionality and efficiency. We strive for continuous innovation and excellence in yacht building.
Cantieri di Pisa is expanding to accommodate its new, ambitious plans, including launching a brand-new fleet of iconic luxury yachts that showcase a flawless synergy between the traditional excellence that has always defined the brand and cutting-edge innovation. Our shipyard continues to set new standards in yacht construction, focusing on lightness, the highest degree of customization, eco-friendliness and overall exceptional quality.
Transforming vessels into extraordinary masterpieces by reimagining and redefining their shapes and spaces, their form and function, breathing new life into every ship and boat we craft.
Cantieri di Pisa is founded in Limite sull’Arno, Tuscany.
The company opens the new Cantieri Navale Italiano yard in Porta a Mare on the Navicelli Canal – built during the Medici era.
Cantieri di Pisa launches Tyrsa, a 20-meter ketch designed by Bruno Veronese, followed by Capitano Black and Ro-ro (1958-59), Val II (1959), and a 21-meter ketch, Val III in 1965, the last sailing boat to be built by the Pisa yards. Now named Kalea, it was recently refurbished by Cantieri dell'Argentario.
The company’s first motorboat, the 10-meter-long Jupiter, is unveiled at the Milan Boat Show in February, followed by the 13-meter-long Polaris range. With their characteristic deep-V hulls and triple mahogany planking, these two designs attracted remarkable success.
Under the direction of naval architect Pierluigi Spadolini, Cantieri di Pisa launches Super Jupiter and Super Polaris, larger models characterized by the addition of a fly bridge.
Cantieri di Pisa introduces the Kaitos and Kitalpha ranges - 10-meter and 15-meter craft designed for sport fishing – and develops the even larger Saturno, Super Saturno, Atlas and Pegaso ranges.
The 21-meter-long Pegasus motor yacht hits the market.
The legendary Akhir starts to take shape, designed by Pierluigi Spadolini. Its name is inspired by Achenar, a blue star in the Eridanus constellation that, despite its extreme distance, is one of the most brilliant in the sky.
The first Akhir, a 16-metre cabin cruiser with severe, essential lines, is launched.
The incredible success of Akhir 16 prompts the development of the larger Akhir 19 and the Akhir 20.
Akhir 30 debuts as Cantieri di Pisa’s star continues shining brightly in the yachting galaxy.
The Italian shipyard launches another innovative design: an 18-meter Akhir with true designed appeal, featuring slender, sweeping lines – a departure from traditionally simple craft. Harmonious, compact and lean, the Akhir 18 exudes an implicit dynamism, soon becoming the new standard for high-end yachting.
Cantieri di Pisa introduces fiberglass in the construction of the Akhir, combining it with its renowned wooden craftsmanship. The result is a balanced and unique yacht, where tradition and innovation coexist.
Akhir 22 S is launched as the sportier version of the Akhir 22, meeting different owner needs from comfort to performance. Both models share a planing fiberglass hull and a marine plywood superstructure, with lines inspired by Spadolini’s iconic 1977 design.
Akhir 40 debuts in the ‘90s, showcasing the timeless design of Cantieri di Pisa and Pierluigi Spadolini. Its high bow and black window bands give the yacht a bold, modern profile. The first unit is built in wood, while later models use composites, cutting production time in half. Features like aft terraces anticipate trends seen on today’s yachts.
AKHIR 110 is launched, with sleek Spadolini lines.
2006 sees the launch of two remarkable yachts: KINTARO 39-meter yacht and CAP DE QUERS 43.37-meter.
The Akhir world stands out not only for the number of yachts built, but for the stylistic variations offered to each owner. PARAM JAMUNA III is a distinctive AKHIR 105, blending “new classic” charm with exotic elegance.
Carlo Galeazzi brought a new stylistic era to Cantieri di Pisa with the creation of five motor yachts - Akhir 90’, 108’, 118’, 135’ and 153’. Each model reinterprets the historic design elements introduced by Pierluigi Spadolini, such as the black stripe connecting the portholes, combining them with new longitudinal cuts that give the lines a modern and dynamic character. In 2008, Lazy Me, the first Akhir 135’, and Beata, the first Akhir 108’, made their debut, marking the tangible renewal of the range. In 2009, Nena, the first Akhir 118’, was launched. In 2010, Nasima, the first Akhir 90’, followed. Finally, in 2013, Balista, the flagship of the range and the first Akhir 153’, was launched.
